Galaxy Railways III, Dawn Of A New Era!!!

Here is a brand new story that is a sequel to my favorite Japanese Anime, known as Galaxy Railways.
We all know that the star of the show is The Sirius Platoon with a train known as Big zone Number #G8001, based off the Union Pacific 4-8-8-4 Big Boy Class steam locomotive.  However, after an invasion that occurs at the end of season one, prior to the beginning of Season 2,Engine G8001, Big One gets streamlined, and has 2 additional pilot wheels added to her front, making her a 6-8-8-4 Mallet locomotive.
However the Star is a brand new Platoon Known as the Emblem Platoon, powered by a 0-6-4RT Mason Boggie Locomotive named Torch Lake Number #3.  Originally built by the Mason Locomotive & Machine Works in 1872 for the Calumet & Helca Mining Company, but shortly after being found, she's overhauled and modified into a 2-6-6RT and given the number #22 in order to become an SDF combat train and fight along side Big One.
This story follows a young 25-year-old Officer of the SDF known as Captain Charlie Eldar Caldwell, along with his platoon and combat train.
Captain Caldwell and his platoon embark on adventure through many battles through the Galaxy Railways Network, And soon come across the Evil General Ivonov Leonidovitch Berichkov.  Ivonov is an angered general who was fired from the Space Defense Force during an invasion after assaulting a fellow officer, and costing the lives of thousands of innocent people.  Because of his dismissal, General Ivonov is now out for revenge against the Galaxy Railway's network.
It’s up to Captain Charlie Caldwell and the Emblem Platoon aboard Torch Lake to fight back against Ivonov, and save the Galaxy Railways from going into enemy hands.
So sit back, hold on tight, and get ready for the ride of your life.  We are gonna travel into the unknown reaches of space onboard the Galaxy Railway’s Space Defense Force’s Emblem Platoon’s Train, Torch Lake Number #22.

And as a tribute to the series, this story will feature both opening and ending theme songs from both seasons 1 and 2.

Galaxy Railways III Dawn Of A New Era

The Infinite Universe, inconceivably vast, where giant stars are mere pin-pricks of light.  What man can fathom the magnitude of this amazing ocean of life?  Are we not but specs of creation, and yet we dare to leave the comfort of our planet and venture forth into boundless space?

A civilian Galaxy Railways passenger train soon travels through space as it journeys from Planet Destiny to Planet Lafaria.

Is there anything more magnificent to behold than the swirling colors of a planet, illuminated by the pure light of a near by star?  And yet, as beautiful as the universe is, just a few pebbles out of place can cause a catastrophic amount of destruction!!!!

A Little boy on board the train notices rocks hurtling towards the traveling train she and her mother are on board.

Little boy: Dad look!!!!  I see rocks flying through the sky???!!!!

Dad: You Do???!!!  Where???!!!!

Little Boy: Right there????!!!!

The father then panics, for those were not flying rocks heading towards the traveling train, they were asteroid particles broken up into small meteors, and everyone whose been traveling on board a Galaxy Railways train knows that meteors result in derailments, and possible destruction of a traveling train.
The meteor soon hits the train’s protective shield tunnel, and causes turbulence along with the lights on the train to flicker on and off.


A woman, sitting in the row behind the father and his son gets out of her seat and wonders what’s going on.

Woman: Hey, what’s up?  THOSE AREN’T FLYING ROCKS, THOSE ARE METEORS!!!!!

Everyone else on the train begin to freak out, as the train’s conductor does his job to keep the passengers calm.

Conductor: Please remain calm!!!!  There’s nothing to fear!!!!  This train is equipped with orbit shields, and the railway itself is protect by a magnetic barrier.  You are perfectly SAFE!!!!

Unfortunately, the orbit shields were not enough to protect the train, and meteors soon broke through the orbit shields and magnetic barrier.  This resulted in the meteors to come smashing into the sides of the train, including the train’s locomotive, derailing the train, and knocking it out of orbit.
The loss of the orbit shield causes an alarm to go off at the Galaxy Railway’s Head Quarters in Destiny Station, which was located on, well you guessed it, the Galaxy Railway’s Capital planet, Planet Destiny!!!!

Emergency Announcement: EMERGENCY!!!!!  EMERGENCY!!!!!  ENGINE NUMBER 707 HAS STOPPED!!!!!!  

Galaxy Train Traffic Control Agent: We have a full shutdown, 3500 megameters from Planet Cornera in the Tibito System!!!!  IT LOOKS LIKE ASTERIODS!!!!!

Galaxy Train Traffic Control Agent: Their orbit shield has been compromised!!!!  Maximize power to the magnetic barrier!!!!

Galaxy Train Traffic Control Agent: They're Requesting an SDF Dispatch!!!!

Galaxy Train Traffic Control Agent: Well, when it rains it pours!!!!  I’M SHOWING A WHITE HOLE FORMING 500 MEGAMETERS FROM THE ACCIDENT SITE!!!!  THE GRAVITATIONAL PULL IS INCREASING!!!!!

General Oto: I WANT THE SPACE DEFENSE FORCE OUT THERE RIGHT AWAY!!!!!  DISPATCH BIG ONE AND THE SIRIUS PLATOON NOW!!!!!!!!

Sure Enough, The SDF’s oldest and most reliable train with the Sirius Platoon on board is dispatched!!!!!!!

Big One: WHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

With a loud blast of its whistle, Engine Number #G8001, the mighty and powerful 6-8-8-4 Mallet locomotive affectionately known as Big One takes off into the sky, and steams out of Destiny Station.

Big One: WHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The Mighty SDF Train is soon out of Planet Destiny’s reach and is on its way to the accident site.
While The SDF’s mighty Big One Train attempts a rescue operation, lets head down to Planet Cornera, the 4th planet of the Tibito System, and the home of our soon to be hero, 25-year-old Charlie Eldar Caldwell.
Right now Charlie works as a Lieutenant Officer in the Cornerean Army, and makes a good living in a fairly exciting life.  But little does he know, that his life is just about to get more exciting.
Here we see Charlie getting promoted to a higher rank, and a better paying position, after taking out a spy from another planet.

Agent N: Well Done, Officer Caldwell!!!!!  I didn’t think you had it in you!!!!!  Capturing a spy from enemy hands is no easy task!!!!!  

Charlie: He looked like one of General Ivonov’s henchmen!!!!!  We know all too well that General Ivonov is trying to take over all planets that lie in the Galaxy Railway’s network!!!!!  Even though our planet wants nothing to do with the Galaxy Railways, it still unfortunately lies in their pathway, and General Ivonov thinks Planet Cornera is no excepition!!!!!

Agent N: WOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAAAAAH, WOOOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAAAHHHH!!!!!!!  We can’t always assume that it was General Leonidovitch Berichkov Ivonov who sent the spy!!!!!!
Listen, I know how you feel about General Ivonov after he killed your entire family bloodline during a vacation to the Lunarfar System!!!!!

Charlie: I WANT THAT SON OF A BITCH LOCKED UP!!!!!!!!

Agent N: Listen, we all do, but he may not be the culprit behind the spy.  So let’s keep an open mind, and assume it could be anybody.
Anyways, good work, and I think it’s time for you to get promoted to the rank from officer to agent, so come follow me……………..

Agent N, soon takes Charlie over to a secret room, where a beautiful brand new  Gloss Fusion Red 2219 Volvo V60 Cross Country Station Wagon.

Agent N: Your new car!!!!!!

Chris: WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!

Agent N: Now your car may look like an ordinary V60 Cross Country Station Wagon, but it’s fully equipped with movement sensitive machine guns in the front roof rack cross bars, laser cutters in the fog lamps, laser guns mounted in the Thor Hammer LED headlamps, a powerful Nuclear Cannon located behind the hood mounted Volvo Emblem, a sonic bomb cannon mounted in the hood mounted Carello fog lamp, stalking missiles located in the front grill, laser cannons that pop out from the plastic cladding in the running boards, an orbit shield mounted in the car’s rear roof rack cross bar, an acid nozzle in the front left fender well behind the mudflap that sprays acid on the road, which will literally destroy any enemy that comes near you, however due to your car’s powerful coating that can ONLY be removed by diamonds, your car is not affected by the acid.
There’s also a smoke screen nozzle located in the front right hand side fender well behind the mudflap, so you can make an escape, and you also have both an invisibility shield, and silence shield operated by your car’s key remote.  This way no one could see or hear you coming.
You also have tiny microphones located in the car’s engine bonnet, that allows you to hear in on conversations, this way you can hear in on secret plans from spies, or whenever you’re in enemy territory from inside the comfort of your car’s cabin.  With use of the car’s touch screen computer, located between the dashboard and center console, you can relay the conversation to head quarters, that way we can send you back up RIGHT AWAY!!!!!!
And Look at your BEAUTIFUL LIGHT GRAY/BLONDE INTERIOR!!!!!!!!!
Lets not forget the beautiful and comfortable textile whool City Weave seat patterns in the beautiful leather chair frames, which are both comfortable, and relaxing.  To top it off, the seats are both heated, and cooled, as is the steering wheel, rear seats, and side door panels.  You also have rear climate control for passengers in the back seats, and the seat backs feature touch screen computers and keyboards to allow other fellow agents to help you out in tracking down enemies and relaying information.  
And yes, your car comes with a BEAUTIFUL panoramic moon roof, that allows you to see what’s over your head, whether it be an enemy attack, a romantic date, if you just wanna let in some sun light, or you just wanna open it to let in some fresh air.
And of course we can’t forget about the cup holders located in the center console in the front, and fold down arm rest in the back.

And by the way, as I said before, the rear seats are heated and cooled too!!!!!

Charlie: WHAT??????!!!!!

Agent N: OH YEAH!!!!!!!  Your car is powered by a 2.5 liter Turbo & Super Charged In-Line 5 Cylinder Engine with 625 Horse Power!!!!!!  It’s connected to a 9 Speed Manual Transmission with a top speed of 252 MILES AN HOUR!!!!!!!  But when you rev it up, it sounds EXACTLY like 007's Aston Martin DB9-S from Casino Royal and Quantum Of Solace!!!!
The car is also all wheel drive, has superior grip for icey conditions, and allows you to drive ANYWHERE OFF ROAD!!!!!!!
You can even ski down steep icey and snowy mountain slopes and retain good vehicle control without having to worry about a crash.

Charlie: OH MY GOD!!!!!  THAT CAN COMPARE TO FERRARIS, LAMBORGHINIS, BUGATTIS, PORCHES AND ASTON MARTINS!!!!!!

Agent N: THERE IS STILL MORE!!!!!!  Your lower and upper suspension control arms extend as do the drive axle CV joins, and there’s a mechanism in the steering knuckles that allow them to rotate all the way forwards and backwards to allow the wheels to become propellers and drive your car under water like a submarine.
Don’t worry, the doors are water tight, and the cabin is oxygen enriched, so you can breath no problem under water.  This way you can make surprise attacks on U-Boats and spies from underwater.  After all, all the weapons work just as good under water and in outer space, as they do out in the open air!!!!!

Charlie: OH MY GOD!!!!!!!

Agent N: I KNOW!!!!!!!!  YOUR CAR CAN ALSO WORK LIKE A MINI SPACE SHIP ESCAPE POD!!!!!!!
Because located in the car’s underbelly in 4 corners behind the front wheels, and in front of the rear wheels, are small but powerful rocket engines that allow your car to lift up off the ground.  Also in the twin tail pipes are more small powerful rocket engines that will push your car forwards and backwards when flying in the air, whether it be on a planet or in outer space.
To get your car transform into a sub, just swipe left on the touch screen computer and push the dive button, but don’t push it until after your car has either landed in water or has driven off a ramp into the water.
And to get your car to fly, swipe right on the touch screen computer, and select fly.  This will activate the rocket engines on all 6 locations, but to lift up, pull up on the car’s gear shift lever, and step on the throttle pedal.  To make your car fly forward, just gently shift the car into gear as if you were driving down a road, and step on the throttle.  Move the gear shift side to side to bank left and right.  To perform a barrel roll in air, in space, in water, or on land, pull up on the gear shift lever REALLY hard, and move it all the way to the left or all the way to the right with your foot hard on the throttle, but when on land, your car MUST BE IN NEUTRAL, or you could be looking at an accident.

Charlie: No problem!!!

Agent N: To perform a power dive, push the gear shift lever ALL THE WAY forward and slam hard on the throttle pedal, and that will push your car into a steep dive under water, in the air, and in space.  To pull out of a dive, pull the gear shift lever ALL THE WAY back and slam hard on the throttle pedal, and that will pull your car out of a dive under water, in the air, and in space.
And to steer left and right under water or in flight, just move the steering wheel like you would on the road.

Charlie: WOW!!!!!!  WHAT A BADASS CAR!!!!!!!

Agent N: And Yes, the car comes with a STATE OF THE ART, BEAUTIFUL Bowers & Wilkin’s Sound system, which consists of speakers that were hand made in England and they sound AMAZING!!!!!!  And your car has an IPHONE Adapter for the newest and latest IPHONE CLXVII, Ipod Micro Nano, or Any other smart phone or MP3 Player.  This will allow you to play music, and watch movies on the computer screen, or even work on your files and documents.

Charlie: NOW THAT IS COOL!!!!

Agent N: As for safety, Volvo has MOST DEFINITELY thought of that, and they are ALWAYS ON TOP OF SAFETY!!!!!!  You have steering wheel mounted airbags, passenger glove box mounted airbags, side door panel mounted airbags in both the front and rear, ceiling mounted side curtain airbags in both the front and rear, floor mounted feet airbags in both the front and rear, overhead ceiling mounted head airbags in both the front and rear, center console mounted side airbags, seat back mounted airbags, and of course with a swipe of the touch screen center console/dash board computer, you can selectively eject any seat you want ejected.  The moon roof will open automatically after you eject a seat.
Oh, and your speedometer, tachometer, fuel reader, mileage reader, are ALL digital displays that look like needles and dials.
You’ll also notice the BEAUTIFUL Walnut wood inlays on both on the dashboard and center console, along with the gorgeous leather upholstery on the dashboard and side door panels.

Agent N: That is the Legendary Gorean Sword!!!!!  Only used on VERY rare occasions, and only passed onto the top agents!!!!!!

Charlie: Wait a minute, wait a minute????!!!!!  Before we continue, how much does this all cost, and why are you giving me all this?????!!!!!!!

Agent N: That’s because………………….

Charlie: WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAATTTTTTTTTTTTTTT????????!!!!!!!!!!!
JUST THE CAR ALONE IS $78,000,000.00 MILLION DOLLARS, PLUS EVERYTHING ELSE IS ANOTHER $44,000,000.00 MILLION DOLLARS, AND YOU ARE RETIRING, AND GIVING ME YOUR POSITION???????!!!!!!!!!!!!
WHY???????!!!!!!

Agent N: I am not as young as I used to be, Lieutenant Officer Caldwell, and you’re the only one whose been on top of everything, and I can only pass on my position to the most trusted officer, and that’s you, so congratulations Lieutenant Officer Charlie Eldar Caldwell, you’ve earned it!!!!!

Charlie was at a HUGE loss for words, and didn’t know where to start.

Agent N: Now, time to place all of your things in your bag, and place the bag in your trunk.  

Still speechless, Charlie loaded up all his things and put them into his trunk before Agent N handed him the keys to his beautiful new Spy Car!!!!!

Agent N: I’ve enjoyed a good and exciting life as a secret agent, but now, it’s time for me to go, and time for you to carry the torch……………..

Charlie: Thank you so very much, Agent N………….

Agent N: I’m not Agent N anymore, you can now just call me Randal!!!!

Charlie: Well, thank you so very much, Randall, Sir!!!!!

Shortly after Charlie and Randal shook hands, Galaxy Railways, locomotive Number #707 came crashing down onto Planet Cornera and smashed right through the side of the Cornerean Army’s Sky Scraping Office Building, and slicing it open like butter.
The portion where Charlie and Randal were standing was on the top floor of the building, meaning their half, was the half that was cut, and hurtling towards certain death.
Randal out of desperation called for Charlie’s safety.

Randal/Agent N: CHARLIE, THE CAR!!!!!!!  GET IN THE CAR, AND SAVE YOURSELF!!!!!!!!!

Charlie: BUT WHAT ABOUT YOU??????!!!!!!!

Randal/Agent N: DON’T WORRY ABOUT ME!!!!!!!!  I’M OLD, I’VE LIVED MY LIFE, AND NOW IT’S TIME FOR YOU TO LIVE YOURS AND CARRY MY LEGACY!!!!!!!!!!!

Charlie: BUT…………………

Randal/Agent N: CHARLIE, PLEASE!!!!!!!  CARRY ON FOR ME!!!!!!!!!!!  THAT IS AN ORDER!!!!!!!!!

Charlie, refusing to disobey orders, presses the remote starter on his car, turns over the engine from the remote, and the engine roars to life!!!!!!!!

Charlie: OKAY, IT’S NOW OR NEVER!!!!!!!

Charlie rushes into his car, closes the door, and as he and his car slide back to one side of the collapsing building, Charlie goes to the computer touch screen on the dashboard/center console, swipes right, presses the flight button, and activates the car’s rocket engines.

Charlie: OKAY, HERE GOES NOTHING!!!!!!!!

Pulling up on the gearshift knob, and gently tapping the throttle, the beautiful new Volvo V60 Cross Country Wagon, lifts off the floor, but Charlie noticed that his car was moving sideways now that the building half was falling sideways, and almost crashing to the ground.

Charlie: Okay, FIRST GEAR LIKE A REGULAR STICK SHIFT, THEN PUSH THE GEARBOX LEVER FORWARD TO STRAIGHTEN THE NOSE!!!!!!!
After depressing the clutch pedal and shifting into first gear before pushing the gearshift knob forward to straighten the nose, the car was now facing right way up!!!!!

Charlie: OKAY, NOW PULL UP TO LIFT OUT!!!!!!!!

Charlie then pulled up hard on the gear shift lever, and the car gently lifted off out of the falling half of the building just in time as it crashed to the ground with a BIG AND LOUD.

BANG, CRASH, KABOOM, KABLEMO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

DUST FLEW EVERYWHERE!!!!!!!!!

Charlie: OH MY GOD!!!!!!!!!!!

The impact of the top half of the building was so powerful, that it cause the second half of the building to come crashing down, and kill HUNDREDS of more innocent office workers, agents, and officers as many tried to escape!!!!!!!

Charlie: OH NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just then the rest of the damaged train came hurtling down towards Planet Cornera, and one of the train cars was hurtling straight for Charlie when………………………

Big One: WHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Engine G8001, Big One Appeared with the Sirius Platoon, and multiple cables came flying out the sides of the combat train, and attached themselves onto the scattered broken train before it had the chance to do more damage.

Captain Schwanhelt Bulge: ARE YOU GUYS READY????!!!!!!!  REAL IN THE BROKEN CARS ON MY GO, AND HAUL THEM OUT OF HERE!!!!!!

Charlie could not believe his eyes, for he had never laid his eyes on a steam locomotive before in all the years he’d seen the Galaxy Railways Trains gliding above the Planet Cornera.  It was something new and amazing, and it was Charlie’s first time every laying eyes on a combat train too!!!!!!

Charlie: THE SPACE DEFENSE FORCE????????!!!!!!!!!!!  WOOOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!  

Charlie was INTRIQUED!!!!!!!

Captain Schwanhelt Bulge: OKAY, BIG ONE, LET’S MOVE OUT!!!!!!!

Big One: WHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

With lots of puffing, wheel slip, and a loud blast on the whistle, Big One, hauled the broken train away from the accident site, and out of Cornera’s atmosphere.

Charlie: WOW!!!!!!!!!!  

Charlie then followed after Big One in his car until the train vanished into Space without a trace.

Charlie: WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHH!!!!!!!  THE SDF AND ACTUALLY SAVING LIVES!!!!!!!!!  THIS I HAVE TO LOOK INTO!!!!!!!!

Chapter 2

The Search For A Train!!!

Days have passed since Charlie first laid eyes on his first steam locomotive and combat train!!!!  
Charlie couldn’t get his mind off the majestic locomotive he had just seen, or having laid eyes on his first combat train.
Due to the destruction of the Cornerean Army’s home office building in Cornera City, everyone in the Cornerean Army had to meet up at the Octagon Home Base in area 52, near the heart of the planet, and EVERYONE had to be relocated, and given new assignments, except for Charlie due to his new position, and no jobs being available for him.
General Pepper Of The Cornerean Army, along with Admiral Mortimer, Commander Jay, and Sargent Medici ALL asked Charlie what had happened during the building collapse, and how he was able to be the soul survivor.

General Pepper: Again, how were you able to survive the building Collapse Lieutenant Officer Caldwell, or should we say, Agent………………………??????
Oh dear, what Agent name, letter, number, or code should you go by?

Charlie: That doesn’t matter, and it’s as I’ve stated before!!!!!!!  My superior, Randal, or should I say Agent N, assigned me a new spy car that’s virtually indestructible!!!!!!!  It also has the ability to fly on Cornera, and in Space as well as swim under water like a sub.  It can handle icy cold temperatures below negative 200 degrees Fahrenheit, or as hot as 12,000 degrees Celsius, has orbit shields, deflective shields, and has all sorts of protection built into it.  Not even a nuclear or sonic bomb, dropping it into a lava pit, freezing it in the ice, or having it go in a black hole can destroy it!!!!!!  Only a specific diamond found on the bare and deserted planet, Venom X can destroy it!!!!!  It’s in the car’s manual!!!!!

Admiral Mortimer: Is it true, you saw an SDF train?

Charlie: Well…………………….

Commander Jay: After a Galaxy Railways Train Car almost crushed you to death?

Sargent Medici: You need to be completely open and honest with us about this!!!!

Charlie: Yes, a train car from the wrecked Civilian Galaxy Railways Train, powered by Engine Number #707 almost came crashing down on me, but it was Engine Number #707 itself that cut the building half like a butter knife through butter!!!!!!  The impact of the top half of the building, was powerful enough to bring down the rest of the structure.  There were no warnings, and there was not enough time for ANYONE to evacuate.
I was just lucky to be assigned this $78,000,000.00 Million Dollar Spy Car!!!!!!  If it wasn’t for the car, I’d be chopped liver and wouldn’t be here getting grilled like a steak on a BBQ by you guys!!!!!  

Admiral Mortimer: But we really need to know!!!!!

Charlie: Okay, you want the truth, you got it!!!!!!  Have you ever heard of the Sirius Platoon from the Galaxy Railway’s Space Defense Force????!!!!!!  
Well, their train is powered by a locomotive none other than the Famous Streamlined 6-8-8-4 Mallet Class Steam Locomotive Number #G8001, known as Big One!!!!
That thing was HUGE!!!!!!!  In fact just the engine itself is literally twice the size of the largest Civilian Escape Ship we have on Cornera!!!!!!

General Pepper, along with Admiral Mortimer, Commander Jay, and Sargent Medici, all burst out laughing very hard, they were almost ready to vomit.

Charlie: WHAT?????!!!!!!!

General Pepper: WHY WOULD THE SDF USE A STEAM LOCOMOTIVE ON A COMBAT TRAIN??????!!!!!!!!!

Admiral Mortimer: THE EMPEROR OF CORNERA HATES THE SDF!!!!!!!!!!!!  WE’D NEVER BE CAUGHT DEAD WITH AN SDF COMBAT TRAIN ON OUR PLANET!!!!!!

Sargent Medici: STEAM LOCOMOTIVES HAVE BEEN NON-EXISTANT FOR OVER 200 YEARS!!!!!!!!

Charlie then leaves the conference room, when file clerk witness, Jonathan Petter, overhears everything!!!!!!
He then decides to follow Charlie over to his car, and perform more research.

Jonathan: HEY!!!!!!

Charlie: Hello Jonathan, what’s up now????!!!!!

Jonathan: I couldn’t help but overhear what happened, but I saw that VERY SAME train too!!!!!

Charlie: Very funny????!!!!!!

Jonathan: NO SERIOUSLY!!!!!!!  I SAW BIG ONE!!!!!!!

Charlie: Do you have any idea, what Big One Looks like?  What it’s wheel arrangement it is, it’s number, the platoon assigned to that train, or who’ve been the train’s assigned captains in the past 10 years?

Jonathan: Okay, I may not know that much on the train’s history, but I understand that the locomotive was once a 4-8-8-4 Big Boy Class locomotive, until shortly after the Great Invasion 7 years ago.  It was then streamlined and given 2 additional pilot wheels, making it a 6-8-8-4, but it’s always kept the number #G8001.

Charlie: Do you also know, that the locomotive is not the original Big One engine, but an identical copy????!!!!

Jonathan: No……………………..no I didn’t know that…………………

Charlie: The original engine was destroyed when it collided with a ship destroyer that made an attempted invasion onto the Galaxy Railway’s network.
Big One was under the Command Of Captain Wataru Yuuki, when that event occurred, and everyone thought that Captain Yuuki sacrificed his life and died from the impact of the collision.  When in fact he survived.

Jonathan: WHAT?????!!!!!

Charlie: Captain Yuuki went through a universe dimensional tunnel, and wound up on a planet in another universe.  
He befriended the people on the planet and tried to help them, but this made robotic machine of a planet killed him, but however managed to keep ahold of his memories and personality, and make it part of the planet’s computer system.
While that was going on, a new copy of Big One was built, and the train went under the command of Captain Schwanhelt Bulge.  
Captain Bulge still Commands Big One and the Sirius Platoon, but I heard there are rumors of Wataru Yuuki’s youngest son, First Officer, Manabu Yuuki taking command in a few years, as Captain Bulge maybe given a higher position of command in the SDF!!!!
However, you are right about the second copy of Big One being streamlined and converted to 6-8-8-4 Mallet Class locomotive, and that’s the current look it retains today.  Her conversion happened after she was badly damaged from destroying the mother control ship during the invasion.  Soon enough, Big One was restored, repaired, streamlined, upgraded with more advanced protection, and put back in service.  
As far as I know, it’s the oldest and most reliable train on the SDF’s fleet.  Never once has it EVER failed a mission.

Jonathan: WOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAHHHHH!!!!!!!  YOU REALLY KNOW YOUR STUFF MAN?????!!!!!!!

Charlie: That’s Lieutenant Caldwell, to you!!!!!  No need to call me agent yet, because I am still yet to find a code name that works for me!!!!  As for how I know the information, I've managed to get ahold of a history book on the SDF, and I plan on joining them someday.
Now given that there are no jobs available for me to do as a secret agent of the army, I’m on a mission.

Jonathan: What mission is that???!!!!!

Charlie: To see if I could find a steam locomotive that I can use to haul a combat train for the SDF!!!!!!

Jonathan: Wait, what was that????!!!!!!

Charlie: You heard me, I’m on a mission to find a steam locomotive that possibly survived, so I can use it to haul a combat train in the SDF along side Big One!!!!!  I just told you that I plan on joining the SDF someday later on down the line.

Jonathan: YOU CAN’T BE SERIOUS!!!!!!!!

Charlie: I am DEAD serious!!!!!!!  The Cornerean Army may HATE the SDF, but we don’t have a combat train, to protect us against an invasion by General Ivonov!!!!!  And that son of a bitch knows that our planet lies in the path way of the Galaxy Railways!!!!!  He is angry at the Galaxy Railways after they fired him, and he wants revenge by taking over and destroying the Galaxy Railways along with everything that lies in its path.
This leaves the Planet Cornera vulnerable to an invasion, and without an SDF combat train, we have no hope of survival!!!!!

Jonathan: You do have a point!!!!!  Now how are we gonna find a steam engine????!!!!!  I thought they went extinct LONG AGO!!!!!

Charlie: Not necessarily!!!!!!  There is still ONLY ONE that still survives, and she’s near the heart of Cornera City.  
Unfortunately, the locomotive has been dormant for goodness knows how long, and will no doubt need a MASSIVE top to bottom rebuild once we get ahold of it.
But I believe once we’ve turned it into an SDF combat train, there’s no reason why we should have any major problems.

Jonathan: Just one thing, Cornera City is on the other of Cornera!!!!!!!  Cornera is NOT a small planet, and it could take WEEKS for us to get to the other side of Cornera!!!!!!

Charlie: In a regular car yes, but ONLY a matter of days in a State of The Art Spy Car that can both fly through Space, and swim under water!!!!!

Jonathan: SERIOUSLY?????!!!!!!!!

Charlie: Top speed of 252 Miles an hour!!!!!  Plus, 102 MPG of liquid Petrol Ion!!!!!

Jonathan: SERIOUSLY?????!!!!!!  THAT’S CRAZY!!!!!!!!

Charlie: Got that right!!!!!!!!  But I warn ya, it’ll be a long and hard find, so best I go this alone.  And tell General Pepper, Admiral Mortimer, Commander Jay, and Sargent Medici that I’m taking a temporary leave, and going on a personal vacation.  They shouldn’t have a problem since every time I arrive, they’re just paying me to do nothing.

Charlie then hopped in his car, depressed the clutch, turned over the engine, and drove off.

Charlie: Okay, set the co-ordinates for Cornera City, put the car on auto pilot, and we should be good!!!!!!!

And with that, Chris put the car on auto-pilot, went on his IPad, and selected movies and T.V. shows to watch on the car’s touch screen computer.
2 Days later, Chris arrives in Cornera City in the dead of night.
The car’s navigation system however, wound him up lost through dark alleys and city corridors.

Charlie: FLYIN FUCKEN SHIT????!!!!!  Did I just get myself lost here????!!!!!  I’ve lived in Cornera City all my life, and you’d think I’d know it very well by now.

After driving around for hours, and hours, Charlie soon arrives at what appears to be the Cornera City History Museum.


Charlie: CORNERA CITY HISTORY MUSEUM???????!!!!!!!!  THAT CAN’T BE RIGHT????!!!!!!!

Charlie then saw a little engine through beautiful glass window on what looked like a train bridge located on the second floor of the building, and couldn’t believe his eyes.

Charlie: OH MY GOD!!!!!!!  I FOUND IT!!!!!!  THIS IS, THIS IS THE SOUL SURVIVING STEAM ENGINE IN THE UNIVERSE BESIDES BIG ONE!!!!!!!  BUT…………………………..

The engine’s unfortunately a museum piece.

Charlie: OF ALL THINGS, THE LOCOMOTIVE IS A FREAKIN MUSEUM PIECE!!!!!!!!!  HOW AM I SUPPOSED TO CONVERT IT INTO AN SDF COMBAT TRAIN?????!!!!!

Charlie then noticed that the museum was not yet open to the public, and that the locomotive was a recent discovery…………………..

Charlie: WAIT A MINUTE????!!!!!...................................Calumet & Helca Mining Company Number #3?  Torch Lake????!!!!!!!

Charlie then got out of his car and walked up to the glass building and looked up.

Charlie: WOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAHHHHHHH!!!!!!!  SHE IS DROP DEAD BEAUTIFUL!!!!!!! BUT SHE'S SUCH A FAR WAY'S UP!!!!!!!!!

Charlie then noticed however, that Torch Lake, was no Big One………………

Charlie: Well, she’s an 0-6-4RT Mason Fairly locomotive, and nowhere NEAR as big and impressive as Big One, but if memory serves me right, the Galaxy Railways used little engines like these in the mines of various other planets.  And despite their small size, they were quite powerful, and managed to get a HUGE amount of copper, platinum, and other rare magnetic ores.
The beautiful planet of Rosoland was notorious for having rare magnetic, as were the planets Camulet, and Helca!!!!!!  WOOOOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAAAHHHH!!!!!!  SO THIS WAS AN ENGINE USED TO HAUL RARE MAGNETIC ORES OUT OF PLANETS CAMULET & HELCA OVER TO PLANETS DESTINY AND LAFARIA!!!!!!!!!!!
WOW, TALK ABOUT A MILLION TO ONE DISCOVERY HERE, I THINK I’VE HIT A GOLD MINE, BUT THE QUESTION IS………………………………………………..HOW DID A GALAXY RAILWAYS MINING STEAM TRAIN ENGINE WIND UP DOWN HERE ON THE PLANET CORNERA?????????!!!!!!!!!

The Discovery!!!!

2 days after Charlie’s arrival in Cornera City, things seemed a very much out of place.
The skies were gray, dark clouds loomed ahead, and everyone was all in a panic.

Charlie: That’s funny, everyone’s acting kinda crazy!!!!  I wonder what’s going on???!!!!

Just then Charlie receives a phone call from General Pepper.

Charlie: Hello General Pepper, this is Lieutenant Officer Caldwell………………

General Pepper: LIEUTENANT OFFICER CALDWELL, WE NEED YOU BACK AT ONCE!!!!!  IT’S AN EMERGENCY!!!!!!

Charlie: Sure, what’s up????!!!!!!

General Pepper: There’s been some suspicious activity going on here, and we’d like you to look into it.  

Charlie: Sure no problem!!!!

General Pepper: How soon can you get here????!!!!!!

Charlie: Today’s my last night here, so I’ll be back on the road tomorrow, so it should be at least 3 days.

General Pepper: Good!!!!!  The sooner you’re back the better!!!!!!

Charlie: I think I may have found something that could help us in case of an invasion or a surprise attack????!!!!!!

General Pepper: WHAT?????!!!!!!  Don’t be ridiculous!!!!!!  Area 52 is ready for anything!!!!!!!  There’d never be an invasion or surprise attack!!!!!!!!!!

Charlie: But if the security system somehow gets breached, then we’re in BIG TROUBLE????!!!!!!!!

General Pepper: How in Cornera would anyone hack our security system????!!!!!

Charlie: I don’t know, but you can never be too careful, ESPECIALLY with the Great Invasion that happened on the Galaxy Railways Seven Years Ago!!!!!!!!!

General Pepper: WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT?????!!!!!!!!

Charlie: GOD, don’t you remember, when a foreign planet’s empire tried to get ahold of the Galaxy Railway’s Network, and any planet that lied in its path???!!!!!!  That included the Planet Cornera, OUR PLANET!!!!!!!  We can’t be too careful!!!!

General Pepper: NOW THIS IS JUST ABSURD!!!!!!  The sooner you can get back here the better!!!!!

Charlie: Understood, I’ll be back on the road first thing tomorrow!!!!!  This is Agent Dragon Out!!!!!

General Pepper: WHAT, AGENT DRAGON???????!!!!!!!!!!  WHAT HEY????!!!!!!

Charlie hung up, walked out of his hotel room, made his way into the elevator, pressed the button for the lobby, and the elevator made its way down the building.

Charlie: I should have thought of this MUCH sooner!!!!!  Our solution is that train!!!!!!

The elevator finally made its way down to the hotel’s lobby, and Charlie soon walked out of the elevator and made his way over to the hotel entrance where valet parking was waiting for him.

Valet Parking Attendant: Good morning Master Caldwell, I have your car ready here for you Sir!!!!

Charlie: Thank You!!!!

Charlie got in his car, depressed the clutch, put the car in gear, and drove off to the Cornera City History Museum as fast as possible.

Charlie: I know Cornera HATES the SDF, and anything to do with the Galaxy Railways, but it could be the ONLY thing that could save us now!!!!

In no time, Charlie drove up to the gates leading to the History Museum.  
The Museum was heavily guarded by both guard bots and museum personal.  

Charlie: Okay, this will be tricky, but with some code hacking, I should be able to get in.

Charlie activated the car’s invisibility and silencing shields, and instantly set to work on hack and cracking the codes.

Charlie: OKAY, GOT IT!!!!!!!!

And with that the gates to the museum’s entrance opened along with 2 massive sliding glass doors, but there was still one obstacle.

Charlie: Now how am I gonna get up the stair case into the museum…………………….
AHHHHHHHHH, TIRE SPIKES!!!!!!!!!  OF COURSE!!!!!!!!!!

Charlie deployed the spikes located in the tires, and the car was able to make its way up the staircase leading inside the museum.
The Museum’s head guard Boco, was shocked to see spike imprints embedded in the carpet of the staircase’s carpet, and see the massive glass doors open.

Head Guard Boco: WHAT THE?????!!!!!  WHY ARE THERE SPIKE PRINTS EMBEDDED IN THE CARPET AND WHY ARE THE GLASS DOORS WIDE OPEN???!!!!!

Ramsley, the museum’s assistant curator was also curious.

Ramsley: NO IDEA, BUT WE BETTER FIND OUT FAST!!!!!!!!

The spikes then retracted back into the tires as Charlie continued driving his car down the corridors through the various museum exhibits.  
Charlie was fascinated by all the historical Cornerean artifacts there were, including some of the Cornerean Army’s first war machines.

Charlie: NOW THIS IS AWESOME!!!!!  How in all of Cornera was this museum able to get ahold of anything this historical?

Charlie soon came across the transportation exhibit!!!!

Charlie: AHHHHHH-HAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!  HERE IT IS!!!!!!  THE CORNERA HISTORY MUSEUM’S TRANSPORTATION SECTION!!!!!!!!!  NOW IT SHOULD BE…………………

Charlie then instantly spotted the train sitting on part of a massive train bridge near the beautiful glass window on the second floor!!!!!

Charlie: THERE IT IS!!!!!!!!!!  Rocket engines activate!!!!!

Charlie activated the car’s rocket engines, and managed to hover his way up to the second floor landing where the locomotive was.

Charlie: ALRIGHT!!!!!!!

With a gentle touch down, Charlie gently landed his car right on the second floor landing-train bridge next to the train itself before deactivated his car, and deactivating both the silence and invisibility shields.

Charlie: WOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAAAHHHHH!!!!!

Charlie then walked up to the old train and had a VERY good look at it.

Charlie: WOW!!!!!!!  THIS THING HAS BEEN BEAUTIFULLY PRESERVED!!!!!!  I MEAN SHE LOOKS AS TO BE IN MINT CONDITION!!!!!!  THERE’S NOT EVEN A SINGLE SCRATCH ON HER!!!!!!!!!!

Charlie then had a good look at the name of the engine on side cab panels of the locomotive.

Charlie: TORCH LAKE?????!!!!!!!  Hmmmmmmmmm………………I wonder where the name comes from…………………

Charlie then saw that the locomotive was coupled to an old turn of the century styed box car with a murphy roof along with a set of 10 old fashioned styled Jackson Sharp Passenger Coaches, consisting of a baggage coach, a combine, 3 regular styled passenger coaches, a dining coach, a sleeper coach, a lounge coach, a hospital coach, and a first class parlor coach.  
The Parlor Coach consisted of a bedroom with a King sized bed, a full bathroom with a claw footed tub, free standing rib caged shower, and separate water closet, a massive living room/parlor that even featured a fireplace, plasma t.v., soft velvet sofas and chairs, hand carved wooden furniture made from walnut and mahogany wood, beautiful lamp fixtures, and beautiful oil paintings of old trains from the golden ages of Galaxy Railways train travel.  
Outside the car was a beautiful observation deck that was supposed to be looking out at the very rear of the train, but was instead looking at the front end of a long caboose.

Charlie: So, this is what an early days Galaxy Railways train looked like?????!!!!!!!!  WOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!
Again, the Mason Locomotive & Machine Works, 1872!!!!!!!  THIS THING IS OLD!!!!!!!!

Just then the Head Guard Boco along with the Museum’s Curator Ramsley found Charlie admiring the beautiful train.

Ramsley: YOU THERE, WHAT ARE YOU DOING HERE?????!!!!!!!

Head Guard Boco: THIS MUSEUM IS NOT YET OPEN TO VISITORS!!!!!!!!  HOW DID YOU GET IN????????!!!!!!!!!

Charlie had no choice but introduce himself.

Charlie: I’m Lieutenant Officer Charlie Caldwell, Agent Dragon, of The Cornerean Army.  I’m here on General Pepper’s orders to search out for a train, in the purpose of converting it into a combat fighter.
General Pepper just informed me that our army base in Area 52, located near the heart of the planet has been seeing some suspicious activity.  We can’t be too careful and need to be on our guard.  If an invasion occurs, we could be vulnerable to a surprise attack, so therefor, a combat train maybe our best line of defense to fend off any enemies.  
In other words, I am not returning back to base camp without a combat train!!!!

Ramsley: NOT TO MENTION, THE MUSEUM’S OWNER WENT THROUGH A HELL OF A LOT OF TROUBLE TO FIND THIS TRAIN!!!!!!  AND GIVEN THAT IT’S THE ONLY TRAIN ON THE PLANET OF CORNERA, IT’S A PRICELESS TREASURE!!!!!!!  THERE’S NO WAY THE OWNER OF THE MUSEUM WOULD ALLOW HIS TRAIN TO BE PUT INTO COMBAT!!!!!!!!!  

Charlie: This locomotive from the looks of it, seems to be an 0-6-4RT Mason Fairly type locomotive that was built for mining rare ores out of the planets Calumet and Helca and then transporting the ores to planets Destiny and Lafaria.

Ramsley & Boco: Yes Sir!!!!  

Henry Froke: My boy, it is a pleasure to meet you!!!!!  I am Henry Froke, a retired veteran of the Cornerean Army, a huge Galaxy Railways Train and History Buff, much like yourself, and the owner of the Cornera City History Museum.

Charlie: It’s an honor to meet you sir!!!  I’m Lieutenant Officer Charlie Caldwell, code name Agent Dragon.  A Spy from the Cornerean Army, and am on the search for a combat train on behalf of General Pepper.

Charlie: WAIT, THOMAS ELISON WAS THE OWNER OF THE CALUMET & HELCA MINING COMPANY?????!!!!!!!!

Henry Froke: WHY YES????!!!!!  He needed the Ores to strengthen the filaments in his all new BI-EXON LAED LIGHT BULBS!!!!!!!!!!!  And the best ore alloys to make the filaments were on the planets Calument and Helica!!!!!!  

Charlie: WAIT, THIS TRAIN WAS IN SERVICE FOR HOW LONG??????!!!!!

Henry Froke: A VERY LONG TIME!!!!!!!  In fact, it was the Calumet & Helca Mining Company’s VERY LAST operational steam engine!!!!!!

Charlie: WOW!!!!!!!!

Henry Froke: The Calumet & Helca Mining Company was under the ownership of the Elison Family for Generations, but when a phase out plan was in order, one by one, all the steam engines used to haul the mining trains were slowly removed from service.  
Then one by one, EVERY LAST steam locomotive used was sent to the scrap yard.  Only the Number #3 engine was kept because she was a crew favorite, along with a personal favorite of Thomas Elison.  
And she was my favorite too!!!!

Charlie: I can see, she really is a beautiful train!!!!!!

Henry Froke: If you think it’s beautiful now on display, you should have seen it in operation when it was working on the Calumet & Helca Mining Company!!!!!  
She was quite an impressive site!!!!!!

Henry then got out his digital folder and showed Charlie some VERY old digital pictures and videos of the old engine when she was in service on the Calumet & Helca Mining Company.

Charlie: WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  WHAT A BEAUTY???????!!!!!!!!!

Charlie then saw the engine working along side a classic JNR DD51 Center Cab Diesel Locomotive Number #825.

Charlie: WOW!!!!!!!!  THAT IS A BEAUTIFUL CLASSIC DIESEL LOCOMOTIVE!!!!!!!  YOU NEVER SEE THOSE ANYMORE!!!!!!!!!

Henry Froke: I know!!!!!  Tried to buy that engine, but Mr. Whittman wouldn’t have it!!!!!  LOL!!!!!!  He sure was a stubborn old man, but a dear friend!!!!

Charlie: He looks stubborn, but I can also see how passionate he is about that locomotive.

Henry Froke: He and Thomas Elison were VERY close, and would often cross paths when Torch Lake was making her runs from the planets Calumet and Helca and 825 was making her runs from the planet of Rosamund.
In his final years, shortly after Torchlake’s retirement, Mr. Whittman was in VERY poor health given that he was suffering major heart conditions, so he was forced to work on the SDF’s mechanical division on Planet Destiny.   However, he still kept pride in cleaning and maintaining his beloved engine, Number #825.
Sadly Old 825 was on death row and destined to be destroyed in Destiny’s scrap yard.

Charlie: WHAT?????!!!!!!!!!  DIDN’T YOU TRY TO SAVE IT?????!!!!!!!!

Henry Froke: I did, but the Cornerean Emperor wouldn’t have it.
However as fate would have it, Captain Wataru Yuuki’s son, Manabu Yuuki, had gotten himself in trouble, yet again, and was forced to work in the mechanical division under the wing of Mr. Whittman.  
And when a Galaxy Railways Civilian Train Number #227, derailed off course on Planet Rosamund, Big One and the Sirius Platoon were deployed.
Unfortunately, time was running out, and Train Number #227 was headed straight for a fatal disaster, and Big One would NOT have made it in time, but……………………

Charlie: Yes??????...............................

Henry Froke: Mr. Whittman and Manabu Yuuki aboard locomotive Number #825 came in at the VERY LAST MILISECOND, coupled onto the stranded train, and pulled it to safety!!!!!!
Once she was out of harm’s way, Mr. Whittman died of a fatal heart attack, but he died in the line of duty as a hero.
Big One and the Sirius Platoon then arrived, and Train Number #227 was then towed safely back to Planet Destiny.

Charlie: WOW!!!!!!!!!

Henry Froke: In honor of Mr. Whittman’s brave actions, his body was placed in a coffin located in the center of Destiny Station, and his beloved engine was BEAUTIFULLY restored, and placed on display on top of a MASSIVE pillar that covers Mr. Whittman’s coffin.
So whenever passengers and crew pass through Destiny Station, they walk by the beautiful JNR DD51 Center Cab Diesel Locomotive Number #825, and pay their respects to Mr. Whittman for his brave actions!!!!

Charlie: WOW!!!!!!!  THAT IS AMAZING!!!!!!!

Henry Froke: Torch Lake here is the OLDEST train in the Galaxy, but Engine Number #825 is a CLOSE NUMBER #2, followed by Galaxy Express Train Number #999, and then would be Sirius Platoon’s locomotive, Number #G8001, Big One!!!!!

Charlie: WOAH!!!!!!!!!!!

Henry Froke: As much as I’d love to see this beautiful train run again, it would take A LOT to restore her and bring her back to life.
Her old iron boiler is not up to the task of today’s modern atomic cosmo boilers, the plasma plug designs are just WAY TOO OLD and outdated, the computers are just not up to speed, the wiring is so old and too bridle, and if you were to try to plug in a modern day chip known as the Cosmo-Matrix, FORGET IT!!!!!  
That’s known for pushing modern SDF combat trains of today BEYOND their limits, but it would DESTROY this locomotive if used.

Charlie: How much of the locomotive is original to 1872?

Henry Froke: That’s controversial, because the locomotive was originally build with no computers, so all that was added, and it also wasn’t designed to fly with other Galaxy Railway trains, so that was modified too, and in order to fly and get computers that would work, the plasma plug design had to be CUSTOM MADE!!!!!!!

Charlie: Are you meaning to tell me that that this train was built here on Conera????!!!!!

Henry Froke: YES IT WAS BELIEVE IT OR NOT!!!!!   A LONG, LONG TIME AGO!!!!!!  Trains used to work ONLY on Cornera, but when the idea came for planet and Galaxy hopping, a mode of transportation was needed, and a man named Louis Stevenson, came up with the idea to make trains fly, along with the used of orbit shields, and magnetic barriers.  
This gave Cornereans and people of other planets the ideas to travel from one planet and galaxy to another via train.
Unfortunately, this made the Cornerean Emperor VERY angry for he felt that the Planet of Cornera was losing its history, and that EVERYONE was taking Cornera’s heritage for granted.

Charlie: So, that’s when the Galaxy Railways BAN OCCURRED???????!!!!!!!!

Henry Froke: Not quite.   It’s when an SDF combat train confused a Civilian for that of an enemy spy train, and shot it down, which in turn destroyed it.
That train was powered by a BEAUTIFUL and HISTORICAL 4-8-4 Northern Class steam Locomotive Number #844!!!!!  To top it off, it wasn’t just any train, but it was a Cornerean V.I.P. Train full of some of Cornera’s MOST ELITE Nobles and celebrities.

Charlie: NOW THAT MAKES SENSE!!!!!!!!

Henry Froke: Given the loss of all the lives on board the train, plus the destruction of a historical artifact, the SDF was charged for multiple murders, manslaughters, destruction of historical artifacts, and flying into unchartered air-space.
The SDF, and any other train from the Galaxy Railways Network was then banned from EVER entering Cornera’s atmosphere ever again.

Charlie: How long ago was that?

Henry Froke: More than 50 years ago, and times have since changed.  It’s now getting to the point where, we need the SDF, and to become part of the Galaxy Railway’s network again in order to keep up with the times, otherwise something VERY bad is gonna happen.

Charlie: That’s how I feel too!!!!!

Henry Froke: Unfortunately this train is just too far old to return to service unless it’s completely torn apart, heavily altered, and given the necessary upgrades required.  It would require the addition of a set of pilot wheels, newer and more high tech computers would be needed, the old iron boiler would need to be replaced by a much stronger and more modern atomic cosmo boiler, the plasma plug assembly would have to be GREATLY enhanced, it would need a MUCH greater water capacity, which would require giving it a larger water tank, which in turn would require more support for the water tank, meaning adding 2 addition wheels onto the trailing boggie, the locomotive’s main steam dry pipe that runs down the center under carriage frame would have to be covered and protected, the old Stevenson Valve Gear linkage would have to be taken out and replaced with a more modern, outer Walschert’s Valve Gear linkage for maintenance and insurance reasons, and all these changes would take away the originality of this historic locomotive.

Charlie: So even though it’s unknown on how many components are still original to the locomotive, this is the way it looked like when she was first built back in 1872, and getting her to an SDF Combat Train standard’s would completely alter that.

Henry Froke: DRAMATICALLY!!!!!!!!  And that’s just the engine!!!!!  The box car, coaches, and caboose are ALL WOOD!!!!!!  They would ALL have to be converted to TITANIUM!!!!!!!  Plus ALL the cars would need their axle bearings converted from conventional friction bearings to proper roller bearings!!!!

Charlie: I know with today’s technology they can EASILY make Titanium look like wood, and plus the conversion to roller bearings would be a HUGE improvement.  This in turn would make the train cars feel MUCH LIGHTER than they are now, but again, it would take away the historical integrity of what the train retains now.
So having the train restored to working order and put in service as a combat fighter would be a double edged sword.

Henry Froke: We REALLY DO NEED a combat train on our planet, but we can’t sacrifice this one!!!!!  It’s TOO HISTORICAL given that it’s both the ONLY train left on Planet Cornera, and that Cornera is where she was BUILT!!!!!!

Charlie: I did see Big One a few days ago, when the Cornerean Army’s home office building was destroyed here in Cornera City.

Henry Froke: Wait a minute????!!!!!!!!!  Does that mean?????!!!!!!!

Charlie: I am the soul survivor of the build collapse.   I am Agent N’s successor.  Randal Bower was his real name, and he sacrificed his life for me.  The only thing that saved my life is that Red Volvo V60 Cross Country Wagon, a Spy car!!!!!!

Henry Froker: You were very lucky to survive that incident.

Just then the sounds of gun fire goes off outside the Museum building.

Charlie: What the????!!!!!

Henry Froker: That does not sound good!!!!!

Both Charlie and Henry look out the glass window and see what appeared to be an invasion!!!!

Henry Froker: Good Lord!!!!!!

Charlie then received a phone call from General Pepper and quickly answered it!!!!

Charlie: Lieutenant Officer Charlie Caldwell, Agent Dragon, what’s up General Pepper????!!!!!

General Pepper: WE’RE UNDER ATTACK!!!!!!!!!

Charlie: And I think I know the master-mind behind it too!!!!!!

Head Guard Boco: And who would that be?

Charlie: General Ivonov!!!!!  He’s a former SDF Executive Superior Officer from the Secret Intelligence Division!!!!!  However, due to his actions in attacking the enemy too soon when our defense system was not adequate during the Great Invasion, A LOT of innocent civilians lost their lives.  He also physically and verbally assaulted a fellow officer, which resulted in him getting fired from the SDF.
Because of this, he’s held a grudge against the Galaxy Railways, and WANTS REVENGE!!!!!!!
I would know because one by one, each one of my family members including my mother, my father, my aunts, my uncles, my grand parents from both sides, and my cousins, all joined both the SDF and SPG to fight against him.  They all ended up losing their lives, and now I have business to settle with him!!!!!

Ramsley: Oh my Good Lord!!!!!

Head Guard Boco: I’m terribly sorry to hear that!!!!!

Henry Froke: So this is General Ivonov’s doing???!!!!!  I should have known!!!!!

Charlie: My belief is, he wants revenge on the entire Galaxy Railways Network, and is trying to take it over little by little!!!!!
And it seems that he is starting with destroying planets that lie in the railway’s pathway!!!!!  And he’s starting with Cornera since it’s weak and vulnerable given that it has no links to the Galaxy Railways, and no combat trains to defend it!!!!

More bombs and missiles came hurtling down on the planet of Cornera!!!!!

The Cornerean Army went all out, trying to fend off as much as they could with all armed forces divisions.
The attack also called an emergency evacuation at ALL airports across the planets, and many people were evacuating onto emergency evacuation Space Ships!!!!

A missile comes crashing through the Museum building and ends up breaking it in half, leaving Henry hanging on the ledge of the second floor with his own 2 hands.

Charlie then helps Henry back onto the second floor landing before they both make a mad dash back to the train.
Henry then hands Charlie the key card with infracture code needed to activate the train.

Henry Froke: YOU’LL NEED THIS TO START THE TRAIN!!!!!!!!!  AND THIS TOO!!!!!!!!

Henry then hands Charlie the Cosmo Matrix key to unlock Torch Lake’s unlimited ability!!!!!!

Charlie: WHAT’S THIS?????!!!!!!!!!!!!  

Henry Froke: IT’S THE COSMO MATRIX!!!!!!  IT WAS NEVER USED BECAUSE GIVEN THE STATE THE LOCOMOTIVE IS IN, THE COSMO MATRIX WILL DESTROY IT, BUT IF GIVEN A PROPPER UPGRADE TO A FULL ON COMBAT TRAIN, YOU HAVE THE POTENTIAL TO UNLOCK A VERY POWERFUL WEAPON!!!!!

Henry Froke: SHE HAS THE POTENTIAL TO BE JUST AS POWERFUL, IF NOT EVEN MORE POWERFUL THAN BIG ONE IF REBUILT RIGHT!!!!!!

But more missiles came firing down on the planet, and more lives were lost.  Some evacuation ships were even shot down and destroyed.
It was beginning to look like a sad situation.

Just then a scary voice is heard of the planet’s intercom.

Scary Voice: HHHHAAAAAAAAAAAA, HAAAAAAAAAAAAA, HHHHHHHHHAAAAAAAAAAAAA, HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA, HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA, HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA, HAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!!!  SO THIS IS THE PATHETIC LITTLE PLANET OF CORNERA?????!!!!!!!!!!!!!  AND YOU THINK YOU CAN ESCAPE BY EVACUATION????!!!!!!!!!!  HOW CUTE??????!!!!!!!!!!!!!  IT’S TOO BAD ALL OF YOUR EFFORTS ARE GOING IN VAIN!!!!!!!  NO MATTER HOW HARD YOU TRY, IT IS NO USE!!!!!!!!!  MY ARMY WILL FIND YOU AND HAVE YOUR EVACUATION SHIPS DESTROYED!!!!!!!!!!!

Millions of helpless people continued to scramble and desperately fight their way over to the evacuation ships, but the more the people tried, the more missiles came flying down.

Scary Voice: HAAAAAAAAAAA, HAAAAAAAAAAAAA, HHHHHHHHHAAAAAAAAAAAAA, HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA, HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA, HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA, HAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!!!  IT IS USELESS!!!!!!!  THOSE WHO TRY TO ESCAPE WILL DIE!!!!!!!!  SURRENDER AND YOU WILL LIVE, BUT IF YOU KEEP TRYING TO ESCAPE YOU’LL DIE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Charlie: THERE IS NO WINNING FOR LOSING HERE!!!!!!!!!!!!

General Pepper: ANY EFFORT WE TRY TO PUT IN, IT ALWAYS BACK FIRES!!!!!!!!!!!!!
OH NO, OUR HOME OFFICE HAS BEEN HIT, AAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!

And with that, the Home Base Office in Area 52 was destroyed, therefor killing General Pepper along with everyone else in the Cornerean Army Base.

Charlie: GENERAL PEPPPER????????!!!!!!!!!!!!  GENERAL PEPPER??????????!!!!!!!!!!!  ARE YOU THERE????????!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  PLEASE, GENERAL PEPPER, ANSWER ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

But there was no answer, General Pepper was dead.

Admiral Mortimer: GENERAL PEPPER HAS BEEN KILLED; WE MUST AVENGE HIM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  AAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Missiles destroyed the air craft carrier carrying the Cornerean Army’s air force division.   This meant that Admiral Mortimer also perished.

Commander Jay: OH NO, NOW THE AIR FORCE HAS BEEN KILLED!!!!!!!!!  
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Commander Jay’s U-Boat Submarine was destroyed.  It was beginning to look like a very sad situation, but…………………..

Emergency Announcement: EMERGENCY!!!!!  EMERGENCY!!!!!

Henry Froke: Unfortunately, the Torch Lake hasn’t run in over 50 YEARS!!!!!  THE OLD IRON BOILER IS NOT UP TO THE STANDARDS OF TODAY’S ATOMIC COSMO BOILERS, THE COMPUTERS ARE OUT DATED, THE PLASMA PLUG ASSEMBLIES ARE ALL CUSTOM MADE, THE DRIVE WHEELS ARE PRACTICALLY CRACKED, THE FRAME CAN’T WITHSTAND THE IMPACT OF TODAY’S GALAXY RAILWAYS TRAINS, THE WATER CAPACITY IS INADEQUATE, THE CYLINDER VALVES CAN’T HANDLE THE STEAM PRESSURE OF TODAY, AND THE MAIN STEAM DRY PIPE IS EXPOSED AND UNPROTECTED FROM ATTACK!!!!!!
A HUGE AMOUNT OF ALTERCATIONS HAVE TO BE MADE IN ORDER FOR THE TORCH LAKE LOCOMOTIVE TO RUN AGAIN!!!!!
NOT TO MENTION ALL THE COACHES ARE MADE OF WOOD, AND USE FRICTION BEARINGS!!!!!

Manabu Yuuki: I appreciate your concerns, but if we can’t use your train, many more people are going to die!!!!!!!  

Henry Froke: I’m sorry, but Torch Lake is just too old to go back into space without an overhaul!!!!!
Manabu Yuuki: Then we’ll couple Big One in front of it to pull it out, and tow it to Planet Destiny!!!!  We’re running out of options and we need your help!!!!!

Charlie: Also Big One is the oldest, strongest, and most reliable train in the entire SDF Fleet!!!!  She’s protected by an orbit shield, however with another train in tow, that orbit shield will expand and give the Torch Lake the necessary protection it needs.  Plus the railway itself is even more protected by a magnetic barrier.  

Manabu Yuuki: EXACTLY!!!!!!

Charlie: If Big One tows the Torch Lake and her train to Planet Destiny, we can then add another train to the SDF fleet for combat.  Of course A LOT of the original parts and components would have to go, but given the historical significance of this engine, she has A LOT to gain by being converted to a combat locomotive.   Therefor I say sacrificing her old and outdated components is a VERY small price to pay.

Henry Froke: You do make a good point!!!!

Charlie: This engine is historical given that she was built back in 1872, she’s been a part of Cornerean history having been built here on the Planet Of Cornera, but she was really ONLY a mining engine when she was out on the Galaxy Railways Network for the Camulet & Helca Mining Company.                                                                               She maybe the oldest locomotive in the entire galaxy, but imagine how much more history she could make by being converted to a combat fighting train, and HELP save lives and protect the Galaxy Railways Network!!!!
Henry Froke: You make a valid point, but I’m just not sure!!!!!  I’m not so sure!!!!!  I mean, this engine is just WAY TOO OLD!!!!!!!!

Charlie: But she can be strengthened and made better than she was before!!!!!!!!  She has VERY LITTLE to lose, but A LOT TO GAIN!!!!!!!  She was ONLY a mining engine, and didn’t do much, but haul magnetic ores from the Planets of Calumet and Helca to the Planets of Destiny and Lafaria.
Cornera maybe where she was built, but in a matter of hours, there won’t be a Planet Cornera anymore!!!!!!  The Planet Destiny will be her new home, and The SDF NEEDS HER!!!!!!!!

Boco and Ramsley then climb aboard the train, and the last door bangs.

Charlie: ALRIGHT, IT’S NOW OR NEVER!!!!!!

Henry Froke: Into the engine room we go!!!!!!

Charlie, and Manabu then opened the cabin doors leading into Torch Lake’s engine room, and climbed in.

Charlie: Okay Henry, you do the honors in starting her up!!!!

Henry Froke: Alright!!!!!

As Henry attempted to climb aboard Torch Lake’s engine room, a missile struck the museum again, but this time, the missile severed the fastening cables and rods holding the train bridge onto the ceiling, and causing the front have of the bridge to crash down onto the first floor.
As the train bridge crashed to the first floor, this caused the Torch Lake and her train to roll off the bridge, and come crashing through the glass windows, and roll outside of the building onto the tarmac.
This in turn caused Henry to lose his footing and fall down 2 stories landing on the first floor with a hard thud!!!!!!!!

Charlie: OH NO!!!!!!!!!!!  HENRY!!!!!!!!

Manabu Yuuki: NOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!  CAPTAIN!!!!!!!!  WE NEED YUUKI!!!!!!!!!  SOMEONE HAS BEEN HURT!!!!!!!!!

The Torch Lake kept on rolling down the tarmac, but was fate would have it…………..

Big One slowly backed towards the Torch Lake as the Torch Lake continued rolling down the tarmac outside the museum.

With a solid CLUNK of the couplers, Big One Couples the back of her train on to the front of Torch Lake, and stops her from rolling any farther!!!!!!

David Young: ALRIGHT!!!!!  THAT SHOULD DO IT!!!!!!

Charlie: AWESOME, WE ARE STOPPED GOOD AND SECURE!!!!!!!

Yuki, Louise, and Kilian then rush off Big One with a Medical gurney as Charlie hops out of Torch Lake’s engine room.
Charlie: OKAY, HURRY!!!!!!!  RIGHT THIS WAY!!!!!!!!!!

Charlie then takes Louise, Kilian, and Yuki over to Henry.  Henry was bleeding VERY badly, was breathing very weakly, and his pulse was starting to die.

Charlie: HENRY HANG IN THERE!!!!!!!

Charlie then helped Louis, Kilian, and Yuki lift Henry onto the gurney as Henry handed Charlie Torch Lake’s activation card and Cosmo Matrix.

Henry Froke: Charlie please, take these……………

Charlie: HANG IN THERE HENRY!!!!!!!!  YOU’RE GOING TO BE OKAY!!!!!!!!!!  I PROMISE!!!!!!!!!

Henry Froke: I leave the Torch Lake in your hands now, and please do what you must with her, just promise me you’ll take good care of her………………….

Charlie: PLEASE DON’T TALK LIKE THAT!!!!!!!!!!!  WE’LL GET YOU TO PLANET DESTINY AND YOU’LL SEE YOUR BELOVED TRAIN GET TRANSFORMED AND JOIN THE SDF’S FLEET!!!!!!  I PROMISE!!!!!!!!!

Henry was then rolled onto Big One, and soon disappeared into the intensive care and isolation Ward, and Yuki set to work at once.  
A few tears began to pour down Charlie’s face.

Louise Fort Drake: It’ll be alright!!!!  Yuki knows what she’s doing!!!!!

Kilian Black: We’ll make sure your friend makes it through.

Captain Bulge: Right now your train needs you Young Man.  We can’t evacuate until we’re able to tow your train out of here.
Captain Julia: THIS IS THE SPICA PLATOON, AND WE’VE JUST FINISHED EVACUATING THE CORNEREAN ARMY’S HOME BASE!!!!!

Captain Tian Deng: THIS IS MIZAR PLATOON, AND WE’VE MANAGED TO HELP EVACUATE EVERYONE HERE NEAR THE HEART OF THE PLANET!!!!!!!

Captain Guy Lawrence: THIS IS THE CEPHEUS PLATOON, AND WE’VE MANAGED TO HELP THE LAST EMERGENCY EVACUATION SHIP GET TO SAFETY, AND NO WE’RE HEADING OUT!!!!!!

Captain Bulge: You heard them young man, we’ve evacuated as much as we could, but we can’t evacuate the last of the survivors without your help.

Charlie: Lieutenant Officer Charlie Caldwell at your service Captain, and it’s an honor to be working with you.

Charlie then scrambles off of Big One, and into Torch Lake’s engine room.

Charlie: Okay First Officer Yuuki, Henry gave me the activation card, and the Cosmo Matrix to activate Old Torch Lake, and let’s see if we can get her online!!!!!

Charlie then plugs in Torch Lake’s activation card, and with that, Torch Lake’s main computer comes to life.

Charlie: ALRIGHT!!!!!!  I’VE GOT THE MAIN COMPUTER NOW ONLINE AND THE BRAKE SYSTEM IS NOW UNLOCKED!!!!!!!  YOU ARE FREE TO TOW US OUT OF HERE!!!!!!!!

Captain Bulge: ALRIGHT BIG ONE!!!!!!!!  LET’S MOVE!!!!!!!!!

Big One: WHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!

With a loud blast on her whistle, the pounding of her pistons, and spinning of her drive wheels, Big One steams along the tarmac, and soon takes off into the sky.

Charlie: Activating the Cosmo Matrix for assistance!!!!!!!

Charlie soon activates the Cosmo Matrix, and helps increases Big One’s protective Orbit shield as the mighty train takes off out of Cornera’s atmosphere.
More missiles come bombarding the Planet of Cornera from enemy attack ships as the SDF Trains and emergency evacuation ships leave the abandoned planet.   A few tears flow down Charlie’s face as he watches his home planet, from where he grew up on, get destroyed.

Captain Bulge: ALRIGHT, ALL SHIELDS GO UP AT MAX, AND SEND ALL POWER TO THE MAIN ENGINES!!!!!!!  WE GOTTA GET OUT OF HERE NOW!!!!!!!!!!

One by each, each emergency evacuation ship, and SDF train, go full speed and away from the planet Cornera just in time when…………………………………………….

Meanwhile, Henry Froke looks out the window from his hospital bed and watches the beautiful view of outer space as he slowly fades away.

Captain Bulge then contacts Manabu and Charlie from Big One’s main control room.

Captain Bulge: First Officer Yuki and Lieutenant Caldwell, it’s with great sadness to inform you that your friend Henry Froke didn’t make it.  I’m terribly sorry……………………..
More tears come pouring down Charlie’s face.

Charlie: Thank you……………………………………….

Manabu Yuuki: It’s gonna be alright Sir!!!!!!!  I know how you feel!!!!!!

Manabu knew all too well how Charlie felt after he himself lost his father Wataru Yuuki, his brother Mamoru Yuuki, and his good friend Bruce J. Speed many years ago.

Charlie: First my parents and my younger sisters, then my bosses Agent N and General Pepper, and now Henry…………………….

Manabu: I know, many good men and women lose their lives, but it’s up to us in the SDF to protect civilians.

Charlie: That’s why I joined the Cornerean Army, became a lieutenant officer, and spy agent; to help save lives………………………………..

Manabu: It’s not easy living the life of a soldier and watching people die.  I would know because I’ve lost my dad, my brother, and a good friend and fellow officer.  But the lives we save really matter, and we can’t let the deaths of those dear to us go in vain.

Charlie then gets out a picture of his parents Christian and Emma, and his 2 sisters Brooke and Lexi.  Then gets out a picture of agent N and General Pepper.

Welcome To The Space Defense Force!!!!

Chapter 6

Welcome To The SDF!!!

Over a month has passed since the destruction of planet Cornera, and of the total population of over 150 million people, ONLY 38 million were able to safely evacuate to Planets Destiny and Lafaria, and most of them under the age of 45.   Many children either lost or got separated from their parents during the evacuation and ended up going to more than 700 different orphanages throughout Planets Destiny and Lafaria.  Those over age 50, were struggling to find work, and those who were able to find work, were not either not qualified enough or too qualified to work decent jobs.
Finding homes was another challenge, and given the currency difference, bidding wars grew ugly.   It was a hard time for many people, and things were only getting started.
Charlie however, was one of the VERY LUCKY few to instantly get settled on his new home planet, Planet Destiny.
Due to being a VERY high ranking officer from the Cornerean Army, he was able to buy himself a decent condo just minutes away from Destiny Station, and by pass the waiting list for assessment tests, and instantly get accepted into the SDF!!!!!
It was day 1 of Orientation, and Charlie was ready to transition from being a Cornerean Army Lieutenant Officer Spy Agent, to being a soldier in the Space Defense Force.

Charlie: Alright!!!!!!!  It’s been a month after arrival, I’ve managed to transition my life style, and get acclimated here on Planet Destiny!!!!  Now it’s time I get in gear, and start my new journey in the SDF!!!!!!  It’s day 1 of Orientation, so LET’S DO THIS THING!!!!!!

Whatever happened to Jonathan, Juan, Boco the Head Guard of the Cornera City History Museum, Ramsley The Museum’s Curator, Sargent Medici, and the rest of the Cornerean Army survivors?
Well, Boco and Ramsley ended up working as station security patrol officers at Destiny Station.

Officer Boco: HEY, YOU!!!!!!!  YOU CAN’T GET IN HERE WITHOUT AN SDF PASS OR A TICKET!!!!!!!

Officer Ramsley: GET BACK HERE, YOU NAUGHTY BOYS!!!!!!!  YOUR PARENTS WILL BE INFORMED ABOUT THIS!!!!!!!

Sargent Medici wound up getting a boring desk job in the administration office of the SDF.

Medici: OH MAN???????!!!!!!!!!!  HOW FAR HAVE I FALLEN?????!!!!!!!  I’VE GONE FROM BEING A HIGH RANKING OFFICER IN THE CORNEREAN ARMY, AND NOW I’M STUCK BEHIND A DESK DOING PAPER WORK!!!!!!!!!  I SHOULD BE COMMANDING A TRAIN, OR OPERATING A DEFENSE DIVISION HERE!!!!!!!!!!!
AT LEAST THE PAY AIN’T BAD!!!!!!!

Somehow both Juan and Jonathan ended up in the SDF’s maintenance division CLEANING the combat trains.

Jonathan: SERIOUSLY??????!!!!!!!!!  CLEANING THE COMBAT TRAINS?????!!!!!!!!

Juan: JUST BE GLAD WE GOT JOBS IN THE SDF THAT HAVE A GOOD STARTING PAY!!!!!!!  We could be MUCH worse off than we are now!!!!!!  At least the money we earn is enough to pay for the mortgage and utility bills of condos.  
Plus our job is a UNION JOB, and with 5 more months of probation to go, once it’s up, we’ll be set with good job security!!!!!!

Jonathan: You’re right, but STILL……………….I KNEW BIG ONE WAS HUGE, BUT I DIDN’T THINK IT WAS THIS HUGE!!!!!!!!!!!  MY GOD, THIS THING TAKES FOREVER TO CLEAN!!!!!!!!

Juan: Don’t forget, we have the Flame Swallow to clean, and Cepheus Platoon’s train followed by Mizar Platoon’s train.

And if you’re wondering what became of the Torch Lake locomotive and her train?  Well………………………………
Needless to say that the Torch Lake was taken to the CTPF or Combat Train Processing Facility.  She was COMPLETELY torn apart down to the bare frame along with all of her train cars for a full assessment of what could be salvaged, and what had to be replaced.
The wrought iron boiler barrel, the cast iron steam cylinder engines, the old wrought iron swiveling bogie frame assemble, the cab and tender tank sub frame, the aging wooden cab, the old galvanized steel tender tank, the weak and cracked cast iron drive wheels and axles, the Stevenson Valve Gear linkage, the small tender bogie and wheels, ALL had to be replaced by MUCH newer and STRONGER materials.
And due to new SDF regulations, 2 additional pilot wheels to help guide the Torch Lake would need to be added to help steer her through tight maneuvers in battles.  Also for easier maintenance, the old and outdated Stevenson Valve Gear assembly, would have to be replaced by a newer and more modern Walschert’s Valve Gear assembly just like on Big One.  And due to the extra long distances required for travel with combat trains, a greater water capacity would be needed which meant, she’d need a MUCH larger water tank, which would require a 6 axle tender bogie instead of a 4 axle.  This in turn would convert the locomotive from an 0-6-4RT to a 2-6-6RT Locomotive.
More than 35 miles of outdated wiring along with all the outdated computers also had to be replaced.
11 out of 12 train cars ALL had to be stripped down, and have their entire wooden bodies replaced by steel and carbon fiber bodies, but made to look like wood.
And that wasn’t even the start.   The Torch Lake locomotive had to be HEAVILY armed with various machine guns, cannons, including main canon mounted in the VERY FRONT of the new smoke box, newer and stronger orbit shields and magnetic barriers, the roofs of at least 7 of the train cars ALL had to be armed with machine guns and cannons.  The 3 train cars that didn’t have their roofs armed with guns, all had to open up to unleash 2 fighter jets, and allow Charlie’s Spy Car to fly out.
On top of that, a 13th train car known as the Main Battery, which sits in the middle of the train and consists of over 9 cannons like those on an old fashioned military tank, had to be built from scratch.
The Boxcar, which was towed directly behind the engine, would be used as the train’s main control center and would house all the flight controls, computers, telescopes, and everything else needed to operate and control the train.
The only car that proved to be VERY LITTLE of a challenge, was in fact the caboose, because it only had to be flat our rebuilt from Steel Alloy and Carbon Fiber to replace the feeble wooden body.
To put things simpler, an old train was having to be taken apart and scrapped, while an new train made from the old train’s drawings and using a few of the old train’s parts, was being built from scratch.
This was causing A LOT of headache for the SDF’s Maintenance Bureau’s mechanics and engineers, including Taro Akatsuki.

Mr. Taro Akatsuki: MY GOD!!!!!!!  BUILDING NEW COPIES OF BIG ONE AND FLAME SWALLOW WAS EASIER THAN THIS!!!!!!!!!

Baxter: I STILL DON’T KNOW WHERE TO GO FROM HERE, EVEN WITH THESE DRAWINGS!!!!!!!!!

Mr. Taro Akatsuki: WE STILL HAVE TO THINK OF SOMETHING!!!!  WE PROMISED THE SDF A NEW COMBAT TRAIN, AND THE TRAIN’S NEW OWNER PROMISED THE TRAIN’S FORMER OWNER THAT THE TRAIN WAS IN GOOD HANDS!!!!!  
THEREFOR WE HAVE NO CHOICE BUT TO FOLLOW THROUGH WITH THIS!!!!!
JUST MY GOD; THIS IS GOING TO BE A LOT HARDER THAN WE ALL THOUGHT, BUT WE HAVE TO MAKE IT HAPPEN!!!!!!!!

However, one coach was left untouched, and that coach was, you guessed it, the Observation Parlor Car, the car coupled on the VERY rear of the train just in front of the caboose.  To Honor Henry Froke, it was decided to leave the Observation Parlor Coach COMPLETELY and AUTHENTICALLY original.  No changes were going to be made, and that coach was NOT to be used in combat.
And while leaving the coach original to the way Henry Froke had it restored, a special display was to be built in the center of Destiny Station.   The display involved merging Whitman’s coffin pillar with a second where Henry’s coffin would be buried, having Whitman’s beloved locomotive, Number #825 coupled with Henry Froke’s beloved coach, and having the train beautifully displayed in the center of Destiny Station to preserve some of the Galaxy Railway’s History.
Needless to say that renovations were taking some time, and many long distance travelers, short hop commuters, and SDF Platoons, were not too happy with parts of the station being blocked off.

Charlie: ALRIGHTY!!!!!  Today is a new day, and it’s my first day with the SDF!!!!!  Let’s just hope it goes well!!!!!

Charlie then hops in his Spy Car, depresses the clutch, turns over the engine, and drives off to SDF Head Quarters at Destiny Station.

Charlie: Now if memory serves me right, the parking garage for Galaxy Railways Employees, SDF, SPG, and maintenance parking should be coming up soon………….
AHHHHHH-HAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!  THERE IT IS!!!!!!!!!

Charlie soon pulls into the parking garage, and low and behold, Charlie manages to find a good space close to the doors leading to SDF Head Quarters.

Charlie: GREAT!!!!!!  A good spot, and I’ve still got plenty of time to make it to Orientation!!!!!

Charlie soon backs his spy car into the parking space, before shutting off the car, getting out, and locking up the car.
He then makes his way through a set of glass doors, before walking through a maze of corridors.
Charlie then gets out his state of the art Ipad that he got from Agent N, and downloads a map of SDF Head Quarters.

Charlie: ALRIGHT, not much farther to go!!!!!!

As Charlie makes his way through the corridors, he bumps into First Officer Manabu Yuuki, and Pilot David Young, and they both greet him warmly.

Manabu Yuuki: Good morning Charlie!

David Young: IT’s good to see you again, young man!

Charlie: Good morning First Officer Yuuki, and it’s great to see you too Mr. Young.

Manabu Yuuki: Hey, no need to be so formal.  You can call me Manabu!!!!

David Young: And please, call me David!!!!  We don’t want things becoming awkward now would we?

Charlie: I guess not!!!!

Manabu Yuuki: Also Captain Bulge would like to see you.

Captain Bulge: You needn’t worry; he’s already here.

Charlie: Good Morning, Captain Bulge Your Honor, Sir.

Captain Bulge: Glad to see you’re enthusiastic about joining us.  It seems that we’ll be working together for a while.

Charlie: Wait, are meaning to tell me……………………..

Captain Bulge: You have been assigned to train under the Sirius Platoon for a while.  
Once your training is completed, the Supreme Commander, Layla Destiny will then permanently assign you to a Platoon.

Charlie: Sounds good!!!!!

Captain Bulge: Don’t forget to head over to get your uniform before going to Orientation.

Charlie: Yes, Sir.

Captain Bulge: I’ve heard A LOT of good things about you, and although I understand you prefer to work alone, my platoon works as a team, so I hope that won’t be a problem.

Charlie: Not at all Sir!  I will do my best, and will follow any of your orders, just as I did for the Late Agent N and General Pepper of the Cornerean Army when they were mine.

Captain Bulge: Very good!!!!!  We look forward to working with you, and I expect great things from you.

Charlie: Yes Sir!!!!

Captain Bulge: You are now dismissed, and I hope your orientation goes well.

Charlie: Yes Sir, Thank you Sir!!!!

Manabu Yuuki: I look forward to working with you Charlie.

David Young: As Do I Young Man!!!!

Charlie: And I look forward to working with you guys as well.

Charlie then makes his way over to the uniform department to pick up and change into his assigned uniform.
Afterwards he then makes his way over to the main auditorium and is soon joined by many other new SDF recruits.

Will: Okay, I guess this is it???!!!!!!  Excuse me, is this where Orientation is?

Charlie: Yes it is, and you’re in the right place Sir.

Mike: OH THANK GOD!!!!!  I thought I was gonna get lost!!!!!

Lauren: Well that’s a BIG HELP, Thanks!!!!!

Adam: Glad to know that we’re all here for the same thing.

Mike: I’m Mike by the way, and I’m training with Mizar Platoon!!!!

Will: AWESOME ME TOO!!!!!  I’M WILL!!!!

Adam: I’m Adam, and I’m training under Cepheus Platoon.

Lauren: I’m Lauren and I’m training with the Spica Platoon.

Charlie: Nice to meet you guys!!!!!

Adam: And let me guess, you got assigned to train with Sirius Platoon, right???!!!!

Charlie: Yes.

Will: LUCKY!!!!!!

Mike: DUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUDDDDDDDDDDEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!  I WAS SO HOPING TO GET ASSIGNED TO BIG ONE, but luck wasn’t on my side.

Adam: You got a name?

Charlie: I’m former Lieutenant Officer Charlie Caldwell, also went by the Code Name Agent Dragon.  I was a high-ranking officer in the Cornerean Army as an under cover spy agent.  But after the destruction of my home planet, and the loss of my fellow superiors and comrades, I guess I’m now just an ordinary platoon member like you guys.

Lauren: That’s not exactly a bad thing, right?

Charlie: I normally work alone, but that all changes once I start training under Sirius Platoon’s wing.

Will: Hey, we all gotta start somewhere right?

Charlie: I guess so.

Adam: And it’s not a bad thing.

Mike: Maybe you can help us or show us any pointers?

Charlie: The life of a lieutenant officer and spy agent is a rather lonely, yet dangerous one.  You’re under cover A LOT, and constantly venturing out into enemy territory.  In my case, it was aboard multiple enemy space ships from General Ivonov’s a few years before his invasion on my home planet.  It also requires having to take someone’s life, which is an awful feeling that will constantly haunt you, and even requires running out into open fire when you least expect it, which can be terrifying.

Will: DAMN!!!!!

Mike: Damn is right!!!!

Charlie: I wouldn’t wish the life of a Lieutenant Officer and Spy Agent on my worst enemy, especially after the loss of my family.

Lauren: I’m so sorry.

Adam: That must be tough.

Mike: Well, your life is about to change as we now join the SDF!!!!!

Adam: You’ll always have us as friends.

Charlie: I don’t really need any friends.

Will: WHAT???!!!!!  Sure you do!!!

Charlie: As I said before, I work alone!

Lauren: But you’ll be working as a team once you train with your platoon!

Charlie: Fine, whatever!

Will: AWESOME!!!!!

Adam: I look forward to working with you!

Mike: Same here man!!!!

Will: Me too!!!!

Lauren: This should be fun!!!!

Just then the auditorium REALLY began to fill up, and sure enough, it was time for the Orientation to begin as Layla Destiny entered the room.

Layla Destiny: WELCOME, NEW SDF RECRUITS!!!!!  YOUR LIVES WITH THE SDF STARTS NOW!!!!!

Layla Destiny then takes a good look at Charlie.

Layla Destiny: (The wheel of fate has been kind!!!!  You have finally come at last Charlie Caldwell.  I know there is greatness to become of you!!!)

From that moment on, Charlie Eldar Caldwell’s life would NEVER be the same, for this was just the beginning of his new life with the Space Defense Force.

Enter The Ivers Sisters Hailey & Annie

2 weeks have passed since Charlie joined the SDF and began training under the Sirius Platoon.  After working closely along side Manabu Yuuki, Kilian Black, David Young, Louise Fort Drake, and Captain Bulge, Charlie was slowly starting to get the hang of things, and was soon becoming a welcomed new member of the team.
Here the Sirius Platoon finishes off their assignment by delivering a newly developed vaccine for the newly formed planet of Photomn.  

David Young: ALRIGHT!!!!!!  

Manabu Yuuki: GOT THE VACCINES JUST IN TIME!!!!!

Nurse: THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH!!!!!

Doctor: We would have been in BIG TROUBLE had it not been for your help!!!!

Yuki: We’re just glad we could make it in time.

Louise Fort Drake: That was almost too close!

Kilian Black: And not have a repeat of the planet we had to destroy years ago.

The rest of the flight back to Planet Destiny may have not have been more than an hour long, but it felt like an eternity with the awkward silence after Manabu and Louise’s constant lover’s quarrel.

Just then Captain Guy Lawrence Disembarks His Train after the Cepheus Platoon finishes their mission for the day.

Everyone then branches off to do their own thing, leaving Charlie kinda puzzled.

Charlie: I wonder what’s to do around here???!!!!!!  I’m well aware that the Planet Destiny has a lot to offer and many sites to see, but with this much time on hand, I’m not so sure of what to do.

Adam: Hey, good to see you again!!!!  How are things going with the Sirius Platoon?

Charlie: Hello, and it’s good to see you again too!!!  Things have been going very well with the Sirius Platoon, but I just experienced witnessing First Officer Manabu Yuuki and Louise Fort Drake breaking out into a typical “lover’s quarrel,” but don’t quote me on that.  LOL!!!!

Adam: That sounds interesting!!!!

Charlie: SERIOUSLY!!!!!  I feel sorry for poor Manabu, Louise blames him for things he doesn’t do.

Lauren: Most girls will do that with guys they really like!

Charlie: WOAH!!!!

Adam: Hello Lauren!!!!

Lauren: Hey you guys!!!!  The Spica Platoon just finished for the day!!!!!

Will: Us too!!!!!!

Mike: And it’s not even 2:00 O-Clock in the afternoon!!!!

Charlie: I guess the SDF must REALLY be on top of things so far.

Adam: So far, and that’s a good thing!!!!

Charlie: As long as Ivonov isn’t causing us any problems.

Mike: Whose that?

Charlie: A former SDF General from the Secret Intelligence division who got fired from the SDF during the Alfort Fleet’s Armada Invasion seven years ago, after he assaulted a fellow officer and tried directly attacking the Alfort Fleet himself with a mere cannon.  Needless to say it nearly had almost everyone in the SDF all killed.

Will: WOOOOOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!

Charlie: He’s been after the Galaxy Railways and other planets in its path out of revenge, and he won’t stop until his revenge has been fulfilled.

Lauren: WOW!!!!!  How do you know all that???!!!!!

Charlie: Learned it through A LOT of research, and spending time under cover aboard some of his ships.   Ivonov was someone who was always EVERY egotistical, and power hungry.  But once the war between the SDF and Alfort Fleet’s Armada Invasion began, he literally went insane.
He’s also responsible for murdering all the members of my family blood line, and I have business to settle with him.

Mike: WOW!!!!!!!

Charlie: I will not let the deaths of my family, or my fallen comrades go in vain.

Lauren: I’m sorry.

Adam: We’re always here for you.

Charlie: Thank you, I really appreciate it.

Mike: Yeah, there’s a good restaurant known as Kyoto Wako’s.  Their food is AMAZING!!!!!!!!

As Charlie and his new friends set off, 2 sisters were disembarking a train, having returned home from a long journey, now that their next semester in college was about to begin.
Their names, are Hailey and Annie Ivers.  Hailey is 22 and VERY outgoing, where as Annie is 19 and rather shy.  However, all of her friends always told Annie that she was the prettier of the 2, despite her smaller size and shy personality.
Both Hailey and Annie catch glimpses of the new SDF recruits and begin drooling over the guys.

Hailey: OH MY GOSH!!!!!!  CHECK OUT THE NEW SDF RECRUITS!!!!!!!!

Annie: Hailey, don’t you have anything better to do besides drooling over boys????!!!!!

Hailey: IT’S THE SDF ANNIE????!!!!!!!!  HOW CAN YOU NOT LIKE SOMEONE FROM THE SDF?????!!!!!!!

Annie: We don’t know any of them!!!!!!!  Besides it’s the start of the new semester, and we best get studying!!!!!!!!!

Hailey: Says the girl whose NEVER HAD A BOYFRIEND!!!!!!!

Annie: UUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUGGGGGGGGGHHHH!!!!!!!!!!  Not that again!!!!!  I’ve been single by choice, and I’m not in a hurry!!!!

The guy Hailey was referring to, was Charlie, who was of course researching things to do on Planet Destiny.
Annie took one look at Charlie and instantly blushed.

Hailey: HE’S CUTE ISN’T HE?????!!!!!!

Annie: Yes he’s handsome, but that is not the point!!!!  We don’t know any of them, we have classes to study for, and I don’t wanna rush into having a boyfriend.  You know I’m not the type who wants a bad boy!!!!  That maybe your thing, but not me!!!!  I want someone whose sweet, loving, caring, honest, loyal, and doesn’t really care about what others think of him.  Unfortunately guys like that are only a dream, and don’t really exist.  At least not in this day and age, but if you wanna swing around and flirt with them, by all means, just don’t go dragging me into it.

Just then Juan and Jonathan came walking along the station platforms with rags, mops, buckets, brooms, and polish.
They soon stop by and say hello to everyone.

Jonathan: HEY, LIEUTENANT OFFICER AGENT DRAGON CALDWELL!!!!!!!  HOW’S IT GOING????????!!!!!!!!!!!

Charlie: You know you guys don’t have to call me that anymore!!!!!  My lieutenant officer and spy agent status went out the door the moment we were evacuated off of Cornera.

Hailey: OH MY GOD!!!!!!  HE’S A LIEUTENANT OFFICER!!!!!!!!!!!!

Annie: SO?????????!!!!!!

Hailey: SO THAT MEANS, HE’S SOMEONE OF GREAT STATURE!!!!!!!!

Annie: GOOD FOR HIM!!!!!  HE’S PROBABLY SOME ALFA MALE SHOW OFF JUST LIKE THE REST OF THEM!!!!!!


Charlie: Our jobs are pretty much done for the next few days given that the SDF doesn’t have anything for us.

Jonathan: LUCKY!!!!!!!!!  OUR JOBS HAVE JUST BEGUN!!!!!!

Juan: Come on, it’s not that bad!!!!!

Jonathan: WE ARE CLEANING THE TRAINS FOR THE ONE MILLIONTH TIME!!!!!!!

Juan: AT LEAST IT PAYS WELL!!!!!!!

Jonathan: STARTING WITH BIG ONE!!!!!

Charlie: OUCH!!!!!

Juan: I do see your point there since Big One is a pain in the ass to clean.

Charlie: Well she’s huge, and a majority of her working components are on the outside given that she is a steam engine.

Jonathan: THAT’S NOT EVEN THE HALF OF IT!!!!!!

Charlie: She’s a 6-8-8-4 Mallet Class locomotive, what do you expect???!!!!

Jonathan: YOU’RE NOT HELPING LIEUTENANT OFFICER CALDWELL, AGENT DRAGON!!!!

Charlie: Again, no need to call me that!!!!  I’m on the Sirius Platoon now, and on an even playing field with the rest of my fellow platoon members, and that’s the way I’d like to keep it for now.

Jonathan: COME ON!!!!!  NO NEED TO BE SO MODEST MAN!!!!!

Charlie: The rest of my platoon is VERY WELL AWARE That I was once a VERY high ranking officer in the Cornerean Army, but that is now in the past.
I’d now like to move forward with my life, and actually start acting like a member of the Sirius Platoon.  
I know I prefer to work alone, but times are tough and my solo days are over.  
In fact today, the Sirius Platoon managed to deliver a set of newly developed vaccines for the Planet of Photomn and not a moment too soon, meaning we were actually involved in saving lives, and that’s what the SDF is about.  
More so than the Cornerean Army, given that we couldn’t even protect our home planet to protect our own lives.  The SDF though is actually something that TRIES to protect lives.


Jonathan: Well, whatever you say!!!!!  I’d MUCH rather have your job than the job I’m doing.

Charlie: Just be glad your job helps pay the bills and then some?

Juan: That’s what I’ve been trying to tell him for the past month!!!!

Jonathan: BUT IT DOESN’T PAY AS MUCH AS YOUR JOBS!!!!!!!!

Charlie: But you’re not putting yourself in NEARLY as much danger, so therefor you should consider yourself lucky!!!!

Juan: STOP WHINING AND LET’S GET TO CLEANING!!!!!  OR MR. AKATSUKI WILL HAVE OUR HEADS!!!!!!

Charlie: Speaking of him, has he given you an update on the Torch Lake and her train?

Juan: Not a word yet unfortunately.

Jonathan: I heard it’s perhaps the most challenging project they’ve had in YEARS!!!!

Charlie: Well, she is a VERY OLD train, and A LOT of parts and components are outdated, plus the modern Galaxy Railway and SDF Standards she needs to comply with, so it shouldn’t really be a surprise.

Hailey: I wonder what they mean????!!!!!!

Charlie: Anyways, I hope your shift cleaning the trains goes by fast.

Charlie and Annie were not watching where they were going and end up bumping into each other knocking each other to the ground.

Annie: I’m at the start of my second college year, so I’m trying to get a head start………………

Everyone stopped dead in their tracks, for they all knew that there was instant chemistry between Charlie Caldwell, and Annie Ivers.

Charlie: I just joined, and am still in training.  I’m currently with the Sirius Platoon aboard Big One until further notice.  And you’re a college student I take it?

Annie: That’s awesome!!!!!  And yes, I’m entering my second year at Notre Dame University.

Charlie: That’s cool, what are you majoring in?

Annie: Tele-communications at the moment, but I also want to advance to hospitality management.  I don’t really know what I wanna do yet, but it’s a learning process.

Charlie: No need to hurry!!!!!  I do intend to go further with the SDF myself, but I’m not sure if I wanna stay with Sirius Platoon, or move to a different location.  

Annie: Hey, no need to hurry, right???!!!!!

Charlie: Exactly!!!!!

Annie: I couldn’t help but overhear someone call you a lieutenant officer?

Charlie: Jonathan doesn’t know how to keep his mouth shut!  All he’s good at is spreading gossip, and complaining about a job condition despite its good pay.

Anyways, Jonathan was right, I was Lieutenant Officer not too long ago.  In fact it was not even a month ago when I got promoted to a spy agent rank for the Cornerean Army.  But with the destruction of my home planet after General Ivonov Army’s invasion, we all had to evacuate, and that’s how I wound up in the SDF.

Annie: You were right about Charlie!!!!!  He was different from everyone else, I mean he was so sweet and so nice!!!!!

Hailey: I KNOW, AND REALLY HANDSOME ON TOP OF IT!!!!!

Annie: AND LIKE, TOTALLY HUMBLE TOO!!!!!!

David Young saw the whole thing and could help but laugh!!!!!

David Young: Well, well, well!!!!!!  Hitting it off with the ladies I see!!!!!  I didn’t think you had it in you!!!!!

Charlie: What’s that supposed to mean????!!!!!!!

David Young: Don’t fool me with that, I see what you are doing???!!!!  Looks like you have something for Ms., what’s her name, Annie Ivers?????!!!!!!

Charlie: Well, she was really cute, and seemed like a really nice girl!!!!!

David Young: HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA, HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA, HAAAAAAAAAAAAA, HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA, HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
She was a cutie alright, and she seemed to really like you too!!!!!!

Charlie: I did feel connected to her, but I have no intention of getting romantically involved with anyone at this time.

David Young: REALLY?????!!!!!!!

Charlie: After seeing Manabu and Louise constantly argue, I’m kind of afraid of getting in a relationship.

David Young: Hey, don’t let that discourage you!!!!  The truth is, no one knows if Louise and Manabu are going out or not!!!!!!  The trouble is, Manabu’s really shy, and so is Louise.  I guess part of their problem is, they’re not always honest with each other when they should.  But you shouldn’t let that discourage you if you really like this girl.

Charlie: I only just met her.

David Young: Give it time!!!!!  It’ll happen, when you least expect it, whether you like it or not!!!!!

Charlie: I’ve been single for 25 years, and I’m proud of it!!!!!

David Young: According to the wheel of fortune, that’s about to change!!!!  And it looks like it may not be in your control!!!!!

Charlie: We’ll see!!!!

David Young: Give it time young man!!!!!

Charlie: I think you’ve had too many glasses of whine!!!!

David Young: HAAAAAAAAAAAA, HAAAAAAAAAAAA, HAAAAAAAA, HAAAAAAAAAAA, HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  THAT’S WHAT THEY ALWAYS SAY!!!!!!!!!

Charlie and David then branched off and went their own ways for the rest of the day.
